Class Descriptions

(Please speak with the office staff about correct level placements for yourself or your child. Students will most likely be asked to take a placement class in order to determine this.)

Ballet

Early Dance Division – Focuses on rhythm, coordination, creativity and discipline

  • 3 yr olds (as of 9/1/21) Creative Movement (45min) This class is a combination class of ballet and tap.
  • 4 yr olds (as of 9/1/21) Beg Ballet 1 + Tap (45min) This class is a combination class of ballet and tap.
  • 5 yr olds (as of 9/1/21) Beginning Ballet 2 + Tap (45min) This class is a combination class of ballet and tap.
  • 6-7yr olds (as of 9/1/21) Elem Ballet 1 + Jazz (1hr) Students will focus on ballet technique fundamentals and will get the chance to learn basic jazz steps at the end of each class. Jazz shoes are not needed, dancers will stay in their ballet shoes for the jazz portion.

Young Division – Focuses on proper body placement, vocabulary, and strengthening

  • Level 1  (1hr)
  • Level 2  (1hr 15min)

Intermediate Division – Builds on the basic fundamentals and incorporates new vocabulary and steps. Students work on strengthening leg and feet muscles for pointe work.

  • Level 3  (1hr 15min)
  • Level 4  (1hr 15min / 1hr 30mins)

Pre-Professional Division – Focuses on musicality, personality, and artistry as well as continuing to strengthen technique

  • Level 5 (1hr 15min / 1hr 30mins)

Jazz

Level 1  (45min) – age minimum 7 yrs. old

Levels 2-4 (45min-1hr)

Tap

Level 1 (45mins) – age minimum 6 yrs. old

Levels 2-3 (1 hr)

Hip Hop

Level 1 (45mins) – age minimum 6 yrs. old

Levels 2-4 (1 hr)

Contemporary

Levels 1 – 3 (1hr) – age minimum is 8 years old. Ballet classes are highly recommended in conjunction to this style.

Dance for Musical Theater  (workshops)

Dance for musical theater will include fundamentals of technique for dance and the stage. Emphasizing versatility in movement and performance skills, we will explore a variety of musical theater choreography from Broadway musicals and dive in to dance and theater improvisation.

Adult

Adult Ballet (1hr)

*No age minimum or maximum and no prior experience is necessary. Adult classes are open classes and can be attended at a person’s leisure. However, technique is built upon throughout the year so it is advised that if the student would like to develop skill that they attend regularly.
